Step 1 of 4

  • Confidentiality & Data Reporting Information (DRF)

Gambling treatment service asks you for information so that you can receive appropriate care and treatment. Once you have completed this form, it confirms that we have your permission to share your data with the agencies indicated. We will at all times comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation 2018. We would remind you that whilst we will endeavour to keep all information you give us confidential, we may be obliged to pass on information where national security or criminal activity is involved, where the information is likely to cause damage or distress to another person, where there are safeguarding or child protection concerns or where someone is at immediate risk to themselves or others.

We keep your information, together with details of your care, because it may be needed if you require further support in the future.

    • You have the right to apply for access to any records kept about your care, support, and treatment (Subject Access Request).
    • You have a right to request your records are deleted at any time, this is reviewed on a case by case basis and where it is deemed that GamCare has a ‘legitimate interest’ in keeping your records in line with legislation we will inform you of why your request may be denied.
    • If you do not provide consent for us to store your information, together with details of your care this may impact on your ability to access treatment.
    • Sometimes GamCare services may need to share certain information (for example on the outcome of your referral) with other treatment services involved in your care, and as part of your continuous treatment journey. The sharing of sensitive personal information is strictly controlled by law. Anyone who receives information from us is also under a legal duty to:
    • - only use the information for the purposes you have agreed to, and
      - Keep the information strictly confidential.
GamCare is commissioned by Gamble Aware. Gamble Aware will use the information provided by you during your treatment for the following purposes:
    • To analyse and help identify improvements to the performance of the gambling treatment services
    • To monitor data input to identify areas for future commissioning of services
    • As part of standard clinical audit procedures to improve services received

We share anonymised Data Reporting Framework (DRF) information about you with Gamble Aware as part of monthly performance data reporting. This is the data set used to collect information on gambling treatment provision. It is managed nationally by Gamble Aware, the body responsible for collecting gambling treatment data and for overseeing the quality of gambling treatment delivered nationally.

    Data Reporting Information (DRF)

    • The DRF data set involves collecting information about the type of treatment you receive from a treatment agency for the purposes of statistical analysis. Sometimes you may be seen by more than one agency within the National Gambling Treatment Service (NGTS). Consequently, to avoid duplication of reporting, DRF may link information about you between the agencies from whom you may have received treatment.
    • Your full name and address are NOT passed on to the DRF reporting structure, although some details are sent (e.g. your initials, your month and year of birth, gender and outer postcode) to minimise the risk of you being counted twice.
    • Some information from DRF is cross referenced with data from other government departments, so that they can monitor the effectiveness of national strategies. However, by the time Gamble Aware reports from the DRF data set to other government departments it is always in the form of total numbers of people and there is nothing in the information that could be used to identify you. At NO point is your personal information shared with other government bodies.
